Before we get into this week's plan-- Vy, you asked about second and third cousins. I found this diagram on Wikipedia... does it make sense to you at all? It's confusing anyway, but sometimes pictures help.***************************************************
¡Hola, amigos!

When we've got a week like this one with lots of stuff due and to do, it's important that you remember there is ONE of me and MANY of you. It is simply not possible for me to correct all of your drafts on Friday, listen to all of your memory work on Friday, go over your exams on Friday (I won't; you'll get them back the following week) etc. Make it easy on yourself and say your memory work early. Turn in your draft or email it to me when you're through with it. Come in to the Pre-AP/IB support center before school and see me for help early on in the week.
I've reworked the calendar so we have a workday Wednesday for your presentations... I can also look at your drafts then.
Presidents' (not "President's") Day is Monday... while our country has had its share of less-than-stellar leaders, there have also been many great men to hold the highest elected office in the nation. Even the more controversial presidents (Nixon, Harding, Carter) have engaging stories to tell.
Have a great week!
