December 10-14, 2007

Your exams will be handed back Tuesday or Wednesday; no time to go over them Monday. (Sorry!) Progress reports are calculated after this week, BTW.

4th period: This is the last week to bring in money! Right now we have $50.

Club pictures are Tuesday. If you are in a club and want to be part of the group shot in the yearbook, be sure you're at school Tuesday!

In my class this week:

Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday
4-1 and 4-2 vocabulary, discuss school supplies and school schedules, mucho/cuánto/poco, forms of tener and tener idioms, forms of jugar, and take a quiz Wednesday over the vocab.

I'm changing our speaking exam on Friday to a listening exam. We've not yet had one of those, but we've had several speaking exams. We'll talk more in class about the format and logic behind these, but you know those listening sections that are always on your chapter exams? The listening exam is nothing but those sections. A lot of them. Some sections are matching, some are true/false, in some you'll be taking dictation, and in others you'll listen to an announcement of some sort and white-hot rabid fun will ensue. Most people prefer a listening exam to a speaking exam, though it tends to be taxing mentally; active listening takes work!

Have a great week!!
