Ron Mueck (rhymes with Buick) is an Australian sculptor. I went to the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth this Saturday because they have thirteen of his sculptures (including all that are pictured here) on exhibit through mid-October. I did not take any of these pictures because photography was not allowed in the museum, but these things looked every bit as real as they seem digitally.
One of the many cool things about his art is that none of it is to scale. If you happen to visit The Modern (this photo is from a museum in Brooklyn), you'll get to watch a video of how Mueck makes his art. The video mentions that if Mueck had made these sculptures to scale, the "art" part of it would have been lost because they would have just seemed like replicas.
If you stare at his sculptures, they seem to be breathing. They are THAT real.
