Greetings from beautiful, crime-free San Antonio!

Hey, kids!

It's been a great trip so far... I've really not done much except fly here, get checked in and eat. I'm sitting in the lobby of the Omni hotel, in these really pretentious crocodile-skinned chairs, laptop in my lap, updating this page! This is a super nice hotel and I'm here with no makeup on and Hello Kitty slippers! Some guy is playing the piano in the lobby and that thing is LOUD... Mr. Brockway and I have to scream to hear each other.

The conference starts tomorrow at 8am! Mr. Brockway and I are here with Mrs. Spangler from the high school... some of you will have her for Spanish III when you get to that point... she is a great teacher and an awesome person and you will LOVE her!

The flight was interesting. Someone on the plane had a peanut allergy and so the flight attendants couldn't serve us peanuts... instead we got pretzels. Like, ten bags of them. We played Boggle-- I think we got through about 4 or 5 rounds. It seemed like we were on the plane about 15 minutes. I am currently winning-- I've got 50 or 60 points and Brockway has 45 or so. I'm not winning by much.

Since we flew down here, we don't have a car so we've taken three taxi rides so far. Our taxi drivers were Janet, Nazieh, and José. Nazieh was the typical cab driver--- honking at people and driving WAY too fast... Janet was about 70 and had a plastic cup full of pens in her console. By "full", I mean, FULL. She also had bottles of Windex all over the compartments in the back seat. As a clean freak, I could appreciate that. José was pretty quiet, and left-handed!

I am going to check my email and go to bed... this hotel has a copy of Oprah magazine in each room... which should put me to sleep in NO time!

I miss all of you!
